Our school’s 1st annual Science Fair and Grand Opening was held on Saturday, January 30th. The science fair marked conclusion to our student’s long and hard hours of work they put in on a topic of their choice. Students in grades 4th through 8th began this process in October by choosing a topic, researching it, completing a science notebook with specific requirements, writing a research paper and creating a tri-fold board.
Not only were students and staff in attendance at our Science fair, but we were also joined by guests from around the community who volunteered their time to make our event a success. Our honorary guest was Corpus Christi Mayor, Joe Adame who officially opened our school prior to the award ceremony. We were also joined by representatives from Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas A&M Kingsville, and Valero who played an important role in judging our competition. read more . . .

Our first official school wide spelling bee was conducted on Thursday, December 10th. All students worked really hard to prepare themselves and we are extremely proud of their hard work. The first bee to take place was the 1st-3rd graders. Dina Mahmoud (2A) took 1st place and advanced to the 4th-5th grade competition.
The 4th and 5th graders battled out to the finish, completing 17 rounds before declaring a winner. Dillyn King (5A) took first place and advanced to the 6th-8th grade competition which would define our school winner. It was another tough race, but after 13 rounds, Dillyn King proved to be our school champion with Yoseph Mahmoud (7A) coming in a close second.
Dillyn will represent our school at the city wide Spelling Bee on February 27th at 8 am. The competition will be held at the Ortiz Center down town. Over the next couple months, both Dillyn and Yoseph will practice to prepare themselves for the competition. Yoseph will serve as our alternate, if for any reason Dillyn is unable to make the competition. We wish them both the best of luck and are looking forward to their success.

Dear Parents,
"Wednesday Folder" is one of the important means of communication between the parents and SST-CC. The folders are distributed in homeroom period every Wednesday and supposed to be returned to homeroom teachers on Thursdays. The folders include "Index Page" to be signed by the parent and returned to school and "Discipline Report" every week for sure. Progress reports are sent home every three weeks in the folder as well. Our Wednesday Envelope may also contain information on upcoming events, announcements, reminder of important dates, or important updates.
